School Days! School Days! Oh, those Golden Rule days! Summer is growing to a close for our school children. Some of us have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who are already talking school supplies and school clothes. They start school so early compared to when we started. Most of us started after Labor Day. Some of us had a long walk to school while some of us had a long bus ride to school. Some of us attended schools where the restrooms were outside. Many of us had lunches prepared by women who made everything from “scratch”. Oh, those homemade cinnamon rolls, dripping with icing. Teachers ate lunch with their classes and the conversations were so good. No difference was ever made between children. There were teachers who sent home reading books with students who did not have any in the home. So think back on the good school memories you had and share them with your family.
