Success Stories
Vickie came to us with a hip fracture, unable to complete bed mobility or walk. By the end of her rehab journey she returned home with her sister walking with a walker and able to get in and out of bed without help. Their goal is to be able to go on a river boat cruise this summer! Thank you for trusting us with your journey home!
Chad came to us using a walker demonstrating poor balance and needing to get stronger and more stable. When he left us he was no longer using an assistive device for ambulation, able to navigate stairs, and monitor his blood pressure independently. He was able to discharge back home with his family, and is doing great at home! Thank you for trusting us with your rehab journey!
Jerry came to us unable to stand up. Through his hard work with our therapy team, he discharged back home with his wife able to stand up and walking with no assistive devices! Our team was able to do caregiver training with his wife, as well as stair training to ensure he would be safe to return back home! We had an awesome time getting to know Jerry! He was such a joy to have in the facility. We are happy he chose us to assist in his rehab journey!
Henreitta came to us needing max assistance with everything; walking, dressing, grooming. By the end of her stay she was completely independent and walking over 300 feet! She was able to graduate from our rehab program and live on her own. She had a great experience with us, and we are so happy she chose us for her rehabilitation journey!
Rebecca came to us walking 1000ft already, but fun fact about her.. she LOVES walking! She was in a walking program prior to coming to us so she made it a goal to get back to her hobby! At the end of her rehab journey, she was walking 2 MILES each day! She was constantly on the move doing laps around the building. Her endurance improved through the course of her stay, and she eventually discharged to her own apartment! We are proud of the progress she made and are happy we could help get her back to doing what she loves. She said our nursing team was great and she would recommend our facility to others.

Teresa Came to us as a new amputee requiring assist with all self care and transfers. Through her rehab stay with us she consistently worked with therapy and progressively improved! By the end of her journey with us, she was completely independent, had received her new prosthetic, and WALKED out the doors back home with her family! She couldn’t have been more grateful for her therapists stating “they are not miracle workers but they CAN work miracles if you let them but you have to be willing to try!” And that’s exactly what Ms. Teresa did! Thank you for trusting us with your rehab journey! Her goal now is to return back to living alone, which we have fully believe she is capable of doing!
Katherine admitted to us unable to care for herself. She was struggling to move around in bed, and standing or walking was completely out of the question when she first arrived to us. She never let this discourage her from her goals, and we were right there with her! Through hard work and perseverance with our rehab team, she was able to discharge back to her home where she lives on her own with her three pets. She is completely independent now; up and walking, cooking and baking cakes!
We are so thankful Katherine chose us to help her on her rehab journey, and happy to see her safely back home!

John F. came to Henderson Nursing and Rehab towards the end of 2020, a new double below the knee amputee. He did not have prosthetics, and was dependent on all lower body activities, including transfers and mobility. His goal upon admission was to get prosthetics for both legs and learn to walk, and he did just that. John is discharging from our facility with both prosthetics, and walking laps around the facility! He has done so well he will soon be receiving K3 level foot prosthetics, making walking even easier for him with increased range of motion and gait speed, will improve ambulation, balance, and his ability to safely navigate unlevel surfaces such as ramps and stairs. We are so proud of the progress he has made, and that he exceeded his goals! He is excited to get back home with his family, and spend the summer fishing!
“It has been a great journey with many ups and downs, but through it all I have made it with the caring staff at HNR, my family and my church family! God gave me the strength to endure what I have, and I would like to encourage others to hang in there because God is able to give them strength.” – John F.
Congratulations John! We are honored you chose us to help you through your rehab journey. You will truly be missed at HNR!
Brenda only stayed a short amount with us but made it count! She was doing fairly well but needed some more time to get stronger before going back home and that’s exactly what she did! She built up her endurance and improved her ambulation overall. Brenda gave our therapy program a 12/10! She said she would miss us a lot, and loved the staff! She would recommend anyone needing therapy to come here! We are so proud of you! Thank you for being an awesome resident with us!

Ruby came to us dependent with everything. She needed assistance on transfers, walking, dressing and so on. By the end of her stay, she blew us away with her progress! She discharged back home completely independent no longer needing any assistance! She truly enjoyed her rehab journey and loved the therapy team! Congratulations to Ms. Ruby! Your hard work paid off! Thank you for choosing HNR for your rehab journey!
Dennis came to us completely dependent with everything. He wasn’t able to communicate nor did he have any movement in his upper or lower extremities. With dedication and patience, Dennis worked hard with our therapy team and was able to graduate from our rehab program and go back home with his wife. He left us walking on his own with a single point cane, and is going back to work at the start of April! He gave us a 4.5/ 5 star rating and said he would recommend others come to our facility! We are honored he chose HNR to help him reach his goals!
